Hunter

Easter
Hunter's First Day of School
As of Aug 2011 Hunter has turned 5. He is about to finish his first year of Kindergarten. Currently he is reading well beyond his grade level, loves math and science but really dislike writing. I did to those days too, so I can sympathize.

U5 CM Soccer Practice, Tigers
Right now he is enrolled in our CM U5, our neighborhood soccer program. He also did 6 weeks of indoor soccer this winter. Outdoor soccer has practices and games so he is progressing and learning alot more on this team. One of the bonuses is that they get patches for preforming the skills they learn in practice during the game. To a 5 year old what could be more motivating than some iron on circles ;). The U5 league is a 3v3 games and so much fum to watch. Hunter has improved tremendously, preforming almost every move they learn in each game and has scored goals in all but one game. Of course all the kids want to touch the ball at all times while on the field, so they run around in a pack, but when Hunter makes a breakaway, he is so fast that no one can catch him. Plus like his daddy he has no problem getting in a defense stance and blocking goals. As a parent we try to keep him motivated, focus and in his case on his feet. For some reason, call it clumsy or being silly he is always falling down. We are so proud of him and the changes he has made since the beginning of the season.
Playing Mario on the DS of course

Even his 3 year old siblings will sit for almost the whole hour to watch him! Of course they cheer and bug me about when it is their turn which starts next week for them. I have tried to teach them some cheers. They will stand up right on the sidelines and scream GO HUNTER! They adore their brother and are excited and happy to cheer for the TIGERS, his team!

If Hunter is not playing soccer he is playing video games or watching you tube videos on how to play Mario. Now I know video games are not the best use of time but the soccer and running around with the triplets helps create a balance. Mario is where it is at. From the wii, DS, bedding clothing to wall decals. Even when he drawals, he is creating a new Mario level. Before christmas it was anger birds but now it is Mario. It is all he talks about, I think that is all the kids at school talk about too. He comes home and tells me who has Mario this that and whatever. For a while there if I tried to talk to him the conversation would always change to something about Mario.

Over the last week Keith has taught him how to play star wars on the computer. This is not an easy game for adults to understand, having not played this kind of game before and Hunter reads and gets himself around. He has manager to get himself to at least level 5 the last time I checked. He is a bright kid. Keith had to teach his older brother how to play if that help to explain just how hard this game is. It took me a while to understand the maps and how to get around, not Hunter. He is off and rolling. More to kill things but he picks up quests and completes them on his own, unbelievable!

He is a really great kid and I love him so much! What he does around the house to help me is priceless and he is such a star to his brothers and sister. Hunter has told me since I was pregnant with the triplets, that Addison was his baby. He has always treated her a bit differently, sweet, loving and like a protective big brother. He will play special games with her and I even bought boy dress up cloths so that he could play dress up with her without always being put in a dress. Addison definitely tell everyone what to do. Anyhow, he is really sweet with her. Then when he is with his brother, they can play like boys. Lots of wrestling, hide and seek, wii games and so much more. Having a big family is so wonderful in many ways and playing with siblings is definitely one of them.

Of course I can't forget with the summer coming Hunter is excited and looking forward to 3 things: Outdoor adventure Camp, Off-roading with daddy and CAMPING! I am really excited for the camping this year too. We are hoping to get in many more extra trips. I love the summer, so many adventure to come.

One of my personal highlights of last year is when Keith took all the boys on his own to George Washington National forest for a day of light off-roading and a weekend of camping. They all had such a good time and Keith said Hunter was a big help in showing Luke and Cole the ropes of camping and wheeling.

Right now he wants to be a Daddy and a chief.
Favorite Color: Green
Best Friend at School: Andrew
Favorite Book: Ted and Fred go camping, or Cat and the hat, full length versions (He has no problem reading them to his siblings or enjoying us reading them together)
Favorite Holiday: Halloween
Proud Father of 11 fish that live in his room. He really is good about making sure they are cared for.

So much more to come!
